If Matilda was your emotional support character growing up, you’ll be delighted to know that the beloved story is making a comeback with Netflix bringing Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical to the big screen.

Directed by Matthew Warchus and adapted from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production, Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical reinvents our favorite young heroine while exploring her story of Trunchbulls and telekinesis through song.

The trailer promises illustrious dance numbers, a star performance from Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchbull, and yet another rendition of Brucie’s (Charlie Hodson-Prior) decadently dangerous chocolate cake.

The cast also includes Alisha Weir as Matilda and Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey.

Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical is releasing in theaters across the US on Dec. 9, with a Netflix premiere on Dec. 25.
