We've been staring at the edge of the water, long as we can remember, never really knowing if there'd be a sequel to the glorious adventure that is Disney's Moana. But after February's announcement that Moana 2 was on the way, albeit without composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, we've had a lot of feelings.

Now, Disney is taking us back to Motunui, releasing the first teaser trailer for the sequel to Moana on Wednesday.

In Moana 2, we meet the eponymous Polynesian princess and demigod Maui on another seafaring adventure into the far seas of Oceania with a new crew. Moana star Auli'i Cravalho is indeed returning to voice our hero alongside Dwayne Johnson as Maui.

Johnson has also shared behind-the-scenes footage of recording songs for Disney's live-action version of Moana, which the actor himself announced on Instagram on April 3.

What can we say except you're welcome?

Moana 2 will be sailing into cinemas on Nov. 27, 2024.
