"Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys in the Midwest United States between 1978 and 1991 before being captured and incarcerated. He would become one of America's most infamous serial killers."

Directed by Mark Myers and based on the graphic novel by Derf Backderf, My Friend Dahmer explores Dahmer's teen years leading up to his crimes.

Backderf, played in the film by Alex Wolff, went to high school with Dahmer (Ross Lynch). Vincent Kartheiser plays Dahmer's doctor; the trailer includes voiceover of Dahmer describing the unusual thoughts which led to him committing his first crimes just after high school graduation. The film ends on the night before Dahmer's first murder and also stars Dallas Roberts, and Anne Heche.

My Friend Dahmer will release in the fall and premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in April.
