If you want to feel a little bit sad about how many children there are out there who are already smarter than you, just watch this clip above of 14-year-old Dev Shah becoming the 2023 National Spelling Bee champion.

The eighth-grader from Largo, Florida had to spell the word "psammophile" (meaning "an organism that prefers or thrives in sandy soils or areas") in order to win the $50,000 prize, and spell it he did.

An undeniably impressive effort.
