Guillermo del Toro is unlocking quite the Cabinet of Curiosities with a new horror anthology series for Netflix.

Based on his own short story of the same name, and with each episode reportedly introduced by the director himself, the series will see eight horror stories by famous filmmakers including Del Toro. The director is no stranger to anthologies of horror, with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark dragging us back to our childhood hell in 2019.

The talent on this project is quite the drawcard — The Babadook director Jennifer Kent, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night director Ana Lily Amirpour, Mandy director Panos Cosmatos, Splice director Vincenzo Natali, Firestarter director Keith Thomas and more.

The cast will include F. Murray Abraham, Ben Barnes, Elpidia Carrillo, Essie Davis, Hannah Galway, Crispin Glover, Demetrius Grosse, David Hewlett, Andrew Lincoln, Tim Blake Nelson, Luke Roberts, Sebastian Roché, Glynn Turman and Peter Weller, as well as Eric André, Sofia Boutella, Rupert Grint, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Kate Micucci, and Charlyne Yi.

Phew.

Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities is streaming on Netflix TBC.
