Video call interviews have been the only way forward for late night shows and news programs during the coronavirus pandemic, with studios closed amid lockdowns and shelter-in-place orders.

They've actually gone quite well, taking us into the homes of celebrities, seeing them surprise frontline workers and play games all from their laptops.

Well, Netflix is capitalising on that format with their own version in a new YouTube show called Happier Hour, with some of the platform's biggest stars joining for video calls. In a trailer dropped Wednesday, you'll spy Patriot Act's Hasan Minhaj, The Lovebirds' Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani, Never Have I Ever's Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Space Force's Lisa Kudrow all turning up for chats and surprise calls.

Happier Hour will drop an episode every Thursday in July on Netflix’s YouTube channel.
