Detective John Luther (Idris Elba) is back, this time in a Netflix continuation of the lauded BBC crime series.
The film, which is set to release next month, begins with the city of London being tormented by a serial killer, while Luther sits disgraced behind bars, haunted by his failure to capture a cyber criminal. He escapes from prison, intent on solving the case.
The BBC series lasted five seasons, between 2010 and 2019, and saw Elba bagging two Golden Globe wins for the role. The Netflix movie is being directed by Jamie Payne, who presided over the show's fifth season. Dermot Crowley, too, returns as Martin Schenk. Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis also star.
Luther: The Fallen Sun will be in theatres on Feb. 24 and will arrive on Netflix on March 10.
