Steve Carell tries to cope in Netflix's hopelessly chaotic 'Space Force' trailer
Watch Next

General Mark R. Naird is in for an intergalactic shit show.

In Netflix's first trailer for Space Force, a new workplace comedy from The Office star Steve Carell and Parks and Rec co-creator Greg Daniels, Carell plays a four-star Air Force general tasked with heading up the United States' sixth military branch. It would be the crowning achievement of Naird's spectacular service career — if the branch he was leading wasn't freakin' Space Force.

Based on Donald Trump's multi-billion dollar defense initiative, Space Force will chronicle Naird's efforts to motivate his team of doubting and discouraged crew members towards the final frontier. From the looks of things, that will include a lot of explosions and subsequent calm-yourself-down Beach Boys jam sessions — plus performances by Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers, Lisa Kudrow, John Malkovich, Noah Emmerich, Tawny Newsome, Jimmy O. Yang, and more.

Space Force Season 1 begins streaming May 29 on Netflix. Aruba, Jamaica, oh I want to take you to Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama...
