Here. We. Go.

After many months of gleefully looking forward to it, Netflix has finally dropped the date announcement for The Sandman, the 10-episode series based on Neil Gaiman's popular comic books — but it's really more of a teaser trailer.

In the footage above we see the Master of Dreams himself (Tom Sturridge) returning to his broken kingdom to shake things up a bit and remind everyone that nightmares really are a real thing. Showrunner Allan Heinberg's series also stars Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Jenna Coleman, Charles Dance, Gwendoline Christie, and Stephen Fry.

The Sandman is coming to Netflix August 5.
