If profanities offend, best turn down the sound for this.

An 81-year-old New Zealand man gave his son the fright of a lifetime after deciding the best way to defend his ute from a raging bull was to hurl a water bottle and his hat at the animal.

Posted by Whetu Konia to his Facebook page Sunday, the video shows the dad jumping the fence into the bull's paddock after noticing the bovine ball of destruction acting aggressively toward the groups' car.

Konia looks on, filming the understandably expletive-laden encounter, which ended after a tense few minutes. The bull backs off and Konia's father returns to relative safety on the other side of the fence

Konia told One News Now that his father Mac was brought up on a farm and had no intention of backing down. Konia added that the farmer who owned the bull later told the group that the incensed animal, named Rex, was "just playing ... having a laugh (at their) expense."

Remind us to never jump the fence in New Zealand. Konia added to the original post: "Sort of funny after the fact, excuse the language."
