World’s first mile-long ship tunnel will blow a giant hole through a Norwegian peninsula

The Stad Ship Tunnel project is the first tunnel of its kind. It's a project by the Norwegian government to move ships away from its violent coastline waters and through the Stad peninsula. Eight million tons of solid rock will be blasted out to build the full-scale ship tunnel.
