Jack Quaid runs down an alley in "Novocaine."

The trailer for the upcoming action-comedy Novocaine sees Jack Quaid (The Boys, Star Trek: Lower Decks) taking all sorts of physical damage. Stab wounds, third-degree burns, gunshot wounds — the list goes on and on. Luckily for Quaid's character Nathan Caine, he can't feel a thing.

That's right: Nathan, who's otherwise just an average dude, cannot feel pain. But when the girl of his dreams (Amber Midthunder, Prey) gets kidnapped, he'll use that ability to fight past every evil henchman who stands in his way. In the trailer alone, we see him grabbing a gun out of a vat of hot frying oil and shoving glass into his hands to create makeshift claws. Gnarly stuff.

Novocaine hits theaters March 14.
