Despite the fact its title makes it sound oddly like an action movie, Orphan: First Kill looks every bit as horrifying as the franchise's original 2009 outing.

William Brent Bell's prequel sees Isabelle Fuhrmann reprise her role as Esther, this time impersonating a missing child in order to work her way into a wealthy American family before wreaking predictably unpleasant havoc.

Julia Stiles plays Tricia Albright, the troubled mother who slowly comes to realise her daughter may not be who she says she is.

Orphan: First Kill will be available to stream on Paramount+, and available in select theatres, on Aug 19.
