From quick hits to deep dives, this Mashable series cuts through the noise to explain what on Earth is going on and what you should know about it.

We visited London's Science Museum for "The Future of Food," a free exhibition that explores the sustainable practices of food production. From lab-grown meats vs factory farming to the future of bioengineering, the exhibition explores the role technology plays in food production and the impact that it has on our plates and our planet. We also looked at some innovations that could make the future of food more sustainable, including a UK company producing a palm oil alternative — but first, we'll need to overcome preconceived notions on where our food comes from.

"The Future of Food" exhibition is on at London's Science Museum until Jan. 4, 2026.
