Frisco, Texas, resident Brett Sanders got a speeding ticket for going 39 mph in a 30 mph zone. He challenged the fine, but a jury ruled he still had to pay up.

So, he decided to make his payment as annoying as possible — by paying in pennies.

Sanders brought 22,000 coins to the municipal court in two large buckets, each painted with the phrase "extortion payment." He then proceeded to dump them on the counter.

A city spokeswoman told CNN that the pennies took workers around three hours to count.

She also said Sanders overpaid by $7.81.
