Captain Jack is back and fighting an army of undead sailors -- again.

14 years after Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl introduced the world to Johnny Depp's scalawag hero and made pirates cool again, the franchise is still inexplicably plodding on, but now toward a clear finale.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales brings Jack Sparrow to the screen once more, this time facing off against the undead Spanish pirate-hunter Salazar (Javier Bardem), and like, a whole lot of other shit.

The trailer starts out with Salazar's narration and the reveal of a young Jack Sparrow, who apparently stole everything from Salazar before leaving him to grow scaly and resentful, much like Davy Jones (Bill Nighy).

The fifth Pirates installment includes the familiar faces of Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa and Kevin McNally as Mr. Gibbs, with fresh-faced Brenthon Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario joining the cast as obvious replacements for Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom in the first three films (Bloom will appear in Dead Men Tell No Tales, but hasn't been in any clips thus far).

Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters May 26.
