Pixar's 'Onward' gets a new trailer that just kinda lays it all out

It's one of those trailers that plots out the big beats of the movie.

If you like movie trailers that (seemingly) paint a full picture of what the movie's story will look like, Pixar's got you covered in its latest peek at Onward.

The movie follows two brothers who live in a fantasy world – think Cars, but swap the sentient vehicles for Dungeons & Dragons creatures. Something happened when they were young that took their dad out of their lives, but as teens they discover he left them a spell that could give them one last day together.

They try it, but things don't quite go as planned. You can find out more in the trailer. And remember: This is Pixar. The journey often matters so much more than the individual details.

Onward hits theaters in March 2020.
