It's amazing what the right kind of lighting and special effects can do.

It can convince you that brown structures and basic textures are actually the backdrop to an eerie, post-apocalypse-set dilapidated laboratory.

But that's the least tricky development trick that YouTube user Shesez -- whose Boundary Break series takes viewers beyond the bounds of the camera tied to the protagonist -- finds hidden just beneath the surface in 2011's amazing Portal 2.

Shesez, as you'll see in the video, may also have found the reason to GLaDOS's madness. Sure explains a lot (and also, but more importantly, nothing at all).
