In the wake of the #MeToo movement comes Promising Young Woman, a thriller that follows Cassie (Carrie Mulligan) as she gets revenge on predatory men who attempt to take advantage of her.

The film, which is Killing Eve's Emerald Fennell's directorial debut, also stars Bo Burnham, Laverne Cox, Max Greenfield, Connie Britton, Sam Richardson, Molly Shannon, and GLOW stars Alison Brie and Chris Lowell. Promising Young Women is also co-produced by Margot Robbie.

The film's title borrows phrasing from the countless reports of "promising young women" who were sexually assaulted or murdered before reaching their full potential. However, its narrative seems to promise sharp comedic clarity in an era of collective trauma.

Promising Young Women hits theaters on April 17, 2020, after first premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
