Sony's hotly anticipated live stream announcing the Playstation 5 began with a surprise reveal that a new, standalone game set in the universe of Marvel's Spider-Man is coming to the PS5 in late 2020.

The expansion, titled Spider-Man: Miles Morales, will star Miles Morales, whose spider powers were revealed in one of Marvel's Spider-Man's post-credit scenes. Check out the fantastic teaser above and get an amazing first look at Miles in his spidey-suit.

Update: An original version of this article stated that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is considered a full sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man. This impression, gleaned without context from Sony's PS5 event, was incorrect. Sony executive Simon Rutter clarified in an interview with The Telegraph that Miles Morales is "an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game," and later clarified to Bloomberg games reporter Jason Schreier that it "is a brand-new, standalone game similar in scope to Uncharted Lost Legacy."
