Lupita Nyong'o has been busy since winning her Oscar, but we haven't seen her face in some time.

The Star Wars and Jungle Book actress stars in Disney's upcoming Queen of Katwe, directed by Mira Nair. Nyong'o plays the mother of Fiona (newcomer Madina Nalwanga), a Ugandan girl who aspires to be the world chess champion.

Based on a true story, Queen of Katwe also stars David Oyelowo as Fiona's coach, the man who tells her "you belong where you believe you belong" in the inspiring trailer. It's full of soaring music and chess metaphors ("Reset the pieces and play a game"), but all the poignancy of an emotional sports movie.

Queen of Katwe releases on September 23.
