"So many of us can relate to being the monster in the room."

Coming to Shudder Sept. 30 just in time for spooky season, Queer for Fear is a four-episode documentary series executive produced by Hannibal's Bryan Fuller examining the history of horror through an LGBTQ lens, making connections you might not have immediately noticed — like werewolf films as an allegory for coming out.

The doc delves into famous works of horror across decades, from Psycho to Scream, and the resonance these tales of terror have had with queer audiences. The trailer teases a huge bill of talking heads, including interviews with Orange Is the New Black star Lea DeLaria, critic Emily St. James, The Invitation director Karyn Kusama, Dear White People creator Justin Simien, Scream creator Kevin Williamson, horror expert Harmony Colangelo, and more.

Queer for Fear comes to Shudder on Sept. 30, with one episode each Friday.
