A rabid bobcat attacked two men and a dog in Anthem, Arizona, on Sunday.
According the Daisy Mountain Fire Department, a man was walking his German shepherd when a vicious bobcat began to chase them. A good samaritan saw the attack, jumped out of his vehicle and went to aid the man and his dog while another bystander filmed the incident. In the clip, the man can be seen pulling the bobcat off the dog, but when it releases, the bobcat grabs hold on the man's hand.
"Oh my god, now the bobcat's got this guy. Holy shit," the man filming can be heard saying.
After releasing the man, the bobcat ran off into a nearby storm drain.
The man who was bitten by the bobcat was visibly shook and bleeding from his hand.
"Call 911!" the man yells.
According to CBS affiliate AZ Family, Firefighters arrived on the scene and supplied first aid to the man, who later drove himself to the hospital for further care, including a rabies shot.
The dog's owner was uninjured in the attack, and the dog only suffered a scratch. Although the pup was current on its shots, it is currently quarantined for an unspecified amount of time to be safe.
Arizona Game and Fish Department was forced to euthanize the bobcat when it emerged from the storm drain and started acting aggressive. The bobcat later tested positive for rabies.
"It's very bizarre. This is very uncharacteristic for bobcats," Daisy Mountain Public Information Officer Brent Fenton told AZ Family.
However, the behavior is typical for an animal with rabies.
