Was anyone surprised?

No. No one was surprised that Red Dead Redemption II already looks stunning.

The latest trailer from Rockstar Games is mostly a series of shiny cut scenes, laying out the first few details of the story as we know them.

As Rockstar frames it, it tells "the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive." Based on that and the scenes we've seen, we can assume this to be a prequel story that explores Dutch's gang, which includes the new protagonist as well as our friend John Marston and Marston's later ex-friend Bill Williamson.

Red Dead Redemption II will finally be ours on PS4 and Xbox One next Spring.
