'Red Dead Redemption II' follows Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang on a prequel adventure through Rockstar Games vision of the old west.

Red Dead Redemption II is out on Oct. 26, and this new trailer delves deeper into the story than we've been before.

The game is set before the events of the previous game. You may remember old Dutch Van der Linde from Rockstar Games previous Red Dead; this new one follows his gang's earlier days.

A rough synopsis included with the trailer gives a sense of how we're introduced to Arthur Morgan, the game's star, and the rest of the gang:

"After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him."

Now we begin the long wait until late October.
