In what appears set to be one of the most terrifying uses for VR ever, Resident Evil 4 will be released on Oculus Quest 2 this October.

Oculus announced the release date for its anticipated VR version of Capcom's 2005 horror classic with a brief new gameplay look, the first decent peek since April. If you can't wait a whole month, IGN has a full hands-on preview of it.

Still one of the best games of all time, Resident Evil 4 has been remastered and rereleased so many times it's hard to keep track. This will be a fully immersive realisation of the game, and one that I'm frankly too scared to play myself — but one that fans are willing to lean into the nightmare for.

Resident Evil 4 is set for release on Oculus Quest 2 only on Oct. 21.
