At the University of Southern California, a robot helped a human build a remote-controlled airplane. The upcoming study seeks to determine whether human preferences can be effectively transferred to robots in order to complete an assembly task. Using a small touchscreen tablet, the researcher is shown a list of suggested parts or actions to choose from. After making a selection, the robot then heads over to pick up the required pieces and leaves them in a drop-off zone for a smaller robot hand to pass on to the researcher
