The electric first trailer for Hollywood, Ryan Murphy's second project for Netflix after 2019's Golden Globe–nominated show The Politician, promises viewers a complete remix of the "classic" Hollywood story.

In it, 1950s Los Angeles is not just a land of dreamers and wannabe stars, but a corrupt powerscape that keeps some people on top and others trapped on the bottom — until the unlikely team-up of an actor, writer, and a director come together to fight against systemic inequality by making one impossible film.

Hollywood's cast includes legends like Queen Latifah and Patti LuPone, as well at Murphy favorites Darren Criss, Dylan McDermott, and David Corenswet.

Hollywood premieres on Netflix May 1.
