Turns out Samuel L. Jackson is pretty good at predicting election results

Samuel L. Jackson was last on The Late Show in 2016. And back then, he (very correctly) said this about the election: "Don't think the other thing can't happen".

He meant Trump getting elected, of course, and watching the clip back on Monday night, Jackson visibly cringes.

"I didn't want to be right," he says. "I hoped I was trying to be funny!"

When prompted by Stephen Colbert, Jackson agrees that he was also hoping people would go and vote.

"I hope they'll go vote now," he adds. "Because now they know what can happen."

And as for the next election? Jackson says there aren't any candidates that stand out to him at the moment. But one thing is clear in his head.

"I'm definitely voting with the resistance whatever happens. Let there be no doubt."
