Pungent meat props cause 'Saturday Night Live' sketch to go hilariously awry

Meat should always be refrigerated, whether it's for safety purposes or smelly purposes.

During a segment about meat on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update, the ever-hilarious Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant came on as characters Vaneta and Wylene Starkie, owners of Smokery Farms, to talk about how they select animals for their meat gift delivery service. Pretty quickly, a prop meat basket arrives on the desk and you can immediately tell something is wrong.

It looks like a very real selection of mostly raw meats, and judging by McKinnon and Bryant's reactions, someone must have left it out in the warm air. Bryant commented that the scent of the box was strong while McKinnon was unable to hold back laughter.

Hopefully everyone over at SNL learned their lesson from this.
