Hey! Remember the things we were mad about in 2001? That was so cute.

Seth Meyers calls out Republicans’ hypocrisy on trusting the CIA and FBI

Seth Meyers brought back his segment Hey! — where he firmly tells people off, much as you would a naughty puppy — to deliver a rhetorical newspaper bop on the nose to some of the Trump loyalists in the GOP.

Certain Republicans, such as Wisconsin senator Ron Johnson, are insisting that the impeachment inquiry is based merely on the word of several highly qualified members of the intelligence community, which naturally means it's all a huge deep state anti-Trump conspiracy and you can't trust the FBI and the CIA.

So Meyers takes us back to the golden days of the PATRIOT Act: A time when Washington Republicans were spending a lot of time asking people to trust the FBI and the CIA.

"Republicans spent years lecturing the rest of us not to question the intelligence agencies, even when they violated civil liberties and abused their powers," Meyers sums up.

"And now, they're telling us not to trust the intelligence agencies when they report crimes committed by an obviously corrupt president."
