Seth Meyers mocks the weird props Republicans brought to Trump's impeachment hearings

"Just to recap: these guys don't know how impeachment works, they don't know how computers work, they don't know how toilets work. They're pretty close on rain?"

Seth Meyers mocks the weird props Republicans brought to Trump's impeachment hearings

On Monday's episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host noted that Republicans are still having difficulty building Trump a compelling defence in the ongoing impeachment hearings. However, though the facts are not on their side, what they do have is a collection of posters that "look like middle school art projects" and "something a crazy guy would wear in the middle of Times Square" amid the otherwise sober House proceedings.

"At this point Republicans are the only thing keeping the D.C. Kinko's in business," quipped Meyers.

In fact, it almost seems as though the Republicans have entirely given up on appearing to be serious, organised people. On top of having trouble recalling the contents of his own report, Republican lawyer Stephen Castor showed up to Monday's hearing carrying his documents in a grocery store tote bag.

"It's like he forgot about the hearing until the last minute and had to find whatever was lying around his house," said Meyers. "I bet there was only one piece of paper at the top of the bag and the rest of it was just organic produce."

Meyers also examined the misinformation that continues to infest the Republican party in persistent defiance of facts. However, he did note one thing Trump said that was "undeniably true": that water which "comes down" in many states is called "rain."

"Can't argue with the man," shrugged Meyers.
