On Monday's Late Night, Seth Meyers called bull on mainstream news outlet's labeling of Steve Bannon -- Donald Trump's pick for White House chief strategist -- as a "controversial" figure.
"A quick side-note to everyone referring to Bannon as controversial," Meyers began. "He's not controversial, he's a white nationalist and an anti-Semite."
Meyers also called out Speaker Paul Ryan who, when asked on CNN if he had concerns about Bannon's potential White House role, said: "No. I've never met the guy. I don't know Steve Bannon, so I have no concerns."
As the Late Night host put it: "What's with this, 'I've never met the guy' defense? I never met John Wilkes Booth, but I let his past work inform my opinion of him."
