Seth Meyers mocks Trump's latest ramblings as impeachment fallout continues

Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally sent articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate on Wednesday, bringing us one step closer to a potentially early end to his term in the Oval Office. Yet for Trump it was business as usual — meaning ego-boosting rallies and bizarre, rambling speeches.

Trump was meant to be announcing the first phase of a trade deal with China at a press conference on Wednesday. Instead, according to the host of Late Night with Seth Meyers: "It seemed like Trump never got to the actual announcement because he spent the entire press conference just calling out the names of supporters who were in the room."

Meyers then illustrated his point with a supercut of Trump speaking as though he were giving the opening monologue at the Oscars.

Publicly listing his friends probably comforted the president, as things aren't going great for him. The House also released some new, rather incriminating documents concerning Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani and his associates Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman — documents which implicate him.

"I guess it's all part of Trump's strategy to surround himself with lawyers who look guiltier than he does," quipped Meyers. "If you saw all four of these guys in a police lineup and the cops asked you to point out the suspect, you'd need all four fingers."
