On Tuesday's Late Night, Seth Meyers intended to focus his "A Closer Look" segment entirely on President Donald Trump's threats against former F.B.I. Director James Comey.
But just before filming, Meyers and his team caught wind of news that Trump also revealed classified information during a meeting with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador.
Though he didn't have much time to get into the meat of the story, he did leave viewers with this thought:
"Our democracy only works if both parties choose to exercise the checks on presidential power that our constitution prescribes. So hands up-- who thinks it's time for Republicans to stand up?"
