Seth Meyers breaks down why Trump's coronavirus response should reassure 'absolutely nobody'

The coronavirus keeps spreading, having killed nearly 3,000 people worldwide. However President Donald Trump has strictly focused his attention on what truly matters: the resultant stock market plummet's impact on his reelection campaign.

During Thursday's episode of Late Night, host Seth Meyers noted Trump seemed to be downplaying the coronavirus situation. Speaking at a rally, the president claimed that "In theory when [the weather] gets a little warmer it miraculously goes away."

"'It'll go away when it gets warmer'? We're talking about a possible pandemic, not winter skin," quipped Late Night host Seth Meyers during Thursday's episode.

Trump also stood by his huge cuts to health agency spending, saying he'd simply rehire all those doctors when they're needed. One could argue they're needed right now, you know, what with the coronavirus and all.

"You can't just fire a bunch of doctors and then hire them back immediately when there's an emergency," said Meyers, understandably skeptical of Trump's plan. "You can't even get a hold of a doctor after 2.45 on a Friday."
