Seth Meyers lists every time the Trump administration was warned about a pandemic

With mounting proof the Trump administration was warned in advance about the threat of a pandemic, Seth Meyers has put together a "quick" list to break it down.

It is not a quick list.

Taking "A Closer Look" at the situation, Meyers unpacked just how many times the White House had been warned about a potential pandemic like that of the ongoing coronavirus. "Seems like almost every day we get more and more evidence that the Trump administration knew well in advance of the very real threat of a pandemic, and that they both ignored it and lied to the American people about it,” said Meyers in his at-home monologue on Wednesday.

Meyers then broke down the headlines, showing just how many reports the Trump administration received on this very situation. "Seriously, how many incredibly specific warnings do you need?"

The Late Night host also noted just how many times Donald Trump has issued public statements declaring the pandemic somehow unexpected despite these recorded warnings, saying things like, "Nobody knew there’d be a pandemic or an epidemic of this proportion."

“Nobody could see this coming," said Meyers. "Yeah, Taiwan and South Korea and New Zealand and Singapore were all 'surprised'. That’s why they have a combined total of 12,000 cases and we have a total of 400,000 cases. Although in fairness, New Zealand had a huge advantage because they could call in those eagles from the end of Return of the King."

All jokes aside, Meyers makes an incredibly strong and frustrating case for one thing: "They knew."
