Donald Trump spent the weekend throwing the word 'treason' at elected congressmen like Rep. Adam Schiff along with protected whistleblowers. Seth Meyers took "A Closer Look" at it all on Monday, focusing on Trump's tray of "Arrest for Treason?" canapés, served to anyone who dares to investigate him.
"He's threatening the collapse of American democracy and he says it like he's offering hors d'oeuvres at a party. 'Can I get you a bacon-wrapped date? Some Arrest for Treason? Or maybe you'd like our Obama Netflix?'"
Meyers noted that the president accusing a sitting congressman of treason simply for investigating him is itself an impeachable offence.
"He keeps stacking offences on top of impeachable offences — he's making a Scooby Sandwich of crimes."
