Kayaker calls for help during an encounter with a shark in Australia

Oh boy, it's another one of those "AUSTRALIA, NOPE" moments again.

A kayaker off the coast of Western Australia had a hair-raising encounter with a shark on Thursday, when it circled him and nudged his boat from the side. Ian Watkins was forced to make a mayday call on his radio to a nearby whale-watching vessel, located 600 metres (0.3 miles) away.

"I was trying to stay upright and then it circled me for a while and I got on the radio and said 'emergency, emergency, emergency,'" Watkins told ABC News. Eventually a fisheries vessel came by to rescue Watkins, taking him back to land.

Once again: Nope, nope and nope.
