Meet your next new big-screen DC superhero.
Warner Bros. has shared a first look at Shazam!, starring Asher Angel as a kid who gains the ability to transform into a grown-up superhero (Zachary Levi) by uttering a magic word.
In contrast to the gloom and doom of the Batman and Superman movies, or even the seriousness of Wonder Woman, Shazam! looks light and funny. Because Lord knows the DC universe could use some of that right now.
Shazam! hits theaters April 5, 2019.
