'SNL' pokes fun at Boston with pitch perfect ad for Sam Adams' pumpkin ale

At a time of unprecedented division, last night Saturday Night Live played into one of the few things most Americans can still agree on: Making fun of Boston is funny.

Controversial comedian Bill Burr was a natural fit for this sketch, starring as a belligerent Bostonian who drinks a bit too much Sam Adams pumpkin ale during a grocery store taste test. He's the kind of guy who would insist Boston is a city of underdogs while rooting for sports teams that have won a combined 12 championships in the last 20 years.

While the world has been turned upside down in 2020, riffing on Boston is still a formula that works.
