Benedict Cumberbatch hosted Saturday Night Live just as his new movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters. To give the occasion a bit of extra oomf, his Strange co-star Elizabeth Olsen showed up to heighten one of the evening's sketches.

In "The Understudy," we see SNL's Chloe Fineman delivering what are largely pitch-perfect impersonations of her fellow cast members. Toward the end of the three-minute gag, Fineman mentions that she'd never use her impersonation powers to mislead.

Here, the sketch immediately cuts to Cumberbatch in his dressing room as Fineman enters wearing a low-rent version of Olsen's Scarlet Witch costume. The ruse seems to be working up until the real Olsen, wearing regular human clothes, enters the room. Needless to say, Cumberbatch, whose latest Strange movie delves into parallel realities and alternate versions of familiar characters, is thrown by this unexpected development.
