Colin Kaepernick confuses 'South Park' characters in new Season 20 teaser

Leave it to South Park to quickly sum up the collective confusion of America's social and political identity crisis. The latest teaser for Season 20 shows a chorus of characters singing a parody of the national anthem with lyrics about Colin Kaepernick and police brutality, only to waver and second-guess every bold statement they make.

They start out praising Kaepernick, who made headlines this season by opting not to stand for the American National Anthem because he believes it represents "a country that oppresses black people and people of color." Kaepernick was speaking mainly of the escalating police violence that gave rise to Black Lives Matter, and it didn't improve matters that the "Star-Spangled Banner" has a little-known third verse which speaks to strong anti-Black views of its creator.

Colin Kaepernick is brave Cops are pigs, cops are pig

But then our curious choir decides cops are okay, because they can be pretty helpful when someone steals all your stuff.

Wait, someone just took my stuff I need to call the cops Oh no, I just said cops are pigs!

The video ends hating cops and praising Kaepernick again, but we have a feeling that if it kept going, there would be a lot of back-and-forth.

South Park returns to Comedy Central on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
