A dramatic video showing the explosion of an uncrewed SpaceX rocket in Cape Canaveral, Florida was captured on Thursday morning.
The rocket, which was expected to carry a Facebook-backed Israeli satellite to space on Saturday, exploded on its pad before a test took place.
The video of the failed test shows the rocket bursting into flames and black smoke billowing from the destruction.
In a statement, SpaceX confirmed the incident, saying: "In preparation for today’s static fire there was an anomaly on the pad resulting in the loss of the vehicle and its payload. Per standard procedure, the pad was clear and there were no injuries."
