After buying $90 worth of loot boxes in Star Wars: Battlefront 2, a YouTuber proved that the game is still pay-to-win, despite EA's updates after the community's complaints.

YouTuber XfactorGaming tested Star Wars: Battlefront 2's new progression and loot crate systems by purchasing $90 worth of loot boxes, allowing him to unlock and upgrade different abilities and weapons for multiplayer. Within a matter of hours, he gained enough levels to use almost all of the upgrades he got through loot crates and was dominating the competition.

Players in multiplayer games tend to view pay-to-win systems like these as unfair and undesirable, which prompted EA to makes some upgrades unusable until you reach a certain level, but clearly this wasn't enough of a change to make the game fair for players who don't have that kind of money to spend on loot crates.
