Despite the weird uncanny valley performances from some of its digital characters, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story does a great job of time-traveling back to a time before the first film in the series.

So it's only fair that we get to see what the VHS videotape version of the home video might look like if Rogue One had actually been released back in the '70s.

From the amazingly accurate '70s-style voiceover to the grainy footage, the fake Star Wars commercial is so good you might actually be able to trick yourself into believing this is how the franchise chronology played out in real life.
