The Late Show staff may all be social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn't mean Stephen Colbert is about to stop his monologues.

Instead of a rerun on Monday night, viewers were treated to an inside look at Colbert's bathroom — and the host himself, casually lounging (suited) in a mountain of bubbles.

"The government is telling all of us to avoid human contact indefinitely, and on behalf of the socially anxious everywhere, let me just say: way ahead of you," Colbert says in the clip above. "I have been avoiding human contact since before it was cool."

As COVID-19 – the disease caused by coronavirus — continues to spread, there's something strangely comforting about Colbert's piece-to-camera.

"It is a freaky, freaky time, I'll give you that — and I'm sure a lot of you are worried," he says. "But if you're watching this from home right now, know that you're doing the right thing. I'm at home; every member of my staff is home. Because we need to slow the spread of this virus. Epidemiologists call this 'flattening the curve' — but based on my current level of inactivity and stress baking, I definitely will not be flattening my curves."

Let's hope there's more where this came from.
