The coronavirus continues to spread, causing over 100,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the globe. Over 1,000 of these are in the U.S., with New Rochelle, New York home to one of the country's largest clusters.

In response, New York governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Tuesday that a containment area will be enforced around the cluster. He also called in the National Guard to help with sanitation and food delivery.

"The National Guard. Containment area. These are Family Feud answers for the question 'Name something you hear in a zombie apocalypse,'" quipped host Stephen Colbert during Tuesday's episode of the Late Show.

The state of New York further announced it will be using prisoners to make its own hand sanitiser, which Cuomo joked had a "floral bouquet" (for a certain value of "joke").

"'Lilac, hydrangea, tulips, and since this is New York all of that is being overpowered by garbage and subway poop that you hope is from a dog,'" said Colbert.
