As the reality of Donald Trump's election starts to set in, it's reassuring to know that late night hosts are struggling to come to terms with the news just as much as some of us are.
CBS' Late Show host Stephen Colbert opened his Thursday night monologue with the same incredulity he displayed on Wednesday: "Hey, so... this is all still happening,"Donald Trump is really going to be the next president," he said to a chorus of boos. "For a while, I was poking myself with a straight pin to try to wake up from this, but now I just keep doing it to feel something."
Colbert has been one of Trump's most outspoken critics throughout the campaign, and it's reassuring to know that despite Trump's repeated promises to "open up the libel laws" and weaken First Amendment protections for the media if elected, the host has no intention of backing down.
