Over a century after its icy demise in 1915, Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton's lost ship Endurance has been found. A team of researchers and marine archaeologists located the vessel at the bottom of the Weddell Sea, 107 years after Shackleton gave the order to abandon it.

The successful scientific expedition explored the depths of the Weddell, dubbed "one of the coldest, harshest and most remote locations in the world" using next-level tech including underwater robots. So, now they're done, Stephen Colbert has a request — could you please find his left AirPod?

On Thursday, The Late Show host started his beloved segment "Meanwhile," which picks up on all the weird news that doesn't make it to his monologue, with a short report on the story about Grimes and Elon Musk's new baby that has the internet abuzz. Then, he delved into the incredible discovery made this week.

"Meanwhile, over 100 years after Ernest Shackleton's ill fated voyage to the Antarctic ended with his ship getting crushed and sinking in the ice, the Endurance has finally been found 10,000 feet below what the experts call "the worst portion of the worst sea in the world." Amazing testament to the skill and determination of these archaeologists," said Colbert.

"I just want to say, any chance you can come find my left AirPod? It was tragically lost during an expedition to get up from 'the best part of the best couch in the world' and Find My Phone just keeps finding the case. I know where the case is. I don't put the case in my ear."

Well, we might actually be able to help.
